Put on a Happy Face ♫ - Bye, Bye, Birdie, Dick Van Dyke
Pick yourself Up ♫ - Fred Astaire, who else? (forget languid versions of this one)
On a Wonderful Day Like Today ♫ - The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd - Cyril Ritchard
For those of you under a rain cloud:
Singing in the Rain ♫ - from same, Gene Kelley
And for those of you who wish it WERE spring:
It Might As Well Be Spring - State Fair
(Shirley Jones, Danny Thomas Show)
Update: For Kit who is in upstate New York "in the middle of a crappy ice-storm" I'll add her request of:
June is Bustin' out all Over ♫ - from Carousel
And now that she's brought up some chimeras from my youth that I thought I had long repressed, for good measure, I better add:
Spring, Spring, Spring ♫ - sung by Michael Feinstein. I especially like this particular CD.
(video clip under 3 minutes - dialup use keep vid - fast download on song clips)

Ah, another lover of Obscure Music Friday!
I love the idea. In my case, they arent even particularly obscure. Just "American Standards" - the sort of recordings the well known vocalists would do as part of their stable of songs,
Hey Karen...I am sitting here in Day 2 of a really crappy ice storm. How 'bout some "June Is Busting Out All Over?" I sure could use it.
Damn but I miss CA sometimes...
Kit, my pleasure....
(check update!)
YAY!!!! Thanks Karen! Just had to go rescue the beloved on his way home from the airport...something "bad" happened under hood of the ancient 735i (we think the ice fused the blower motor on the defroster) and he nearly self-immolated on the highway. That's right. My fireman was on fire in the middle of the crappy ice storm. "I [don't] Heart NY" >:-[
OH. MY. GOD. He's lucky to be alive. Tell me that won't be "film at 11" if they could get the copter up.
You don't need a few songs, you need a few gin and tonics -- IMMEDIATELY.
Karen
