BTW, was delighted this morning at Mass to find that the EF form of the Mass gave St. Christopher his snaps on the comems. during the mass said in honor of St. James, the Greater. 40 years at least, since I heard that one!

That second picture is nauseating!! Did you read the "prayer" - it says "empty yourselves. MAJOR FAIL

A Google search would have been useful. This sentence is taken from the rule of St. Romuald:
"Romuald was able to integrate these different traditions and establish his own monastic order. The admonition in his rule Empty yourself completely and sit waiting places him in relation to the long Christian history of intellectual stillness and interior passivity in meditation or quietism." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romuald
I agree that the best way to empty oneself is in front of the Blessed Sacrament...
