Notre Dame 38, Perdue 21
Ah...one of the pleasures of fall. Every Catholic's favorite team, next to his own, unless his own is, of course, Notre Dame.
Is there a Catholic alive who would not take delight in scores like:
Notre Dame: 49 SMU(Southern Methodist U.): 3

I would, lol
SCORE!
As long as they aren't playing U of I, my alma mater. And I am NOT a big ND fan, I suppose because of the proximity to my alma mater, the rivalry, and the fact that one Fr. McBrien is still teaching there....
I'm not a huge fan, but as long as ND isn't playing my own favorite (Penn State) I tend to root for them, just because of the Catholic angle.\\
[My own alma Mater, UCSD (university of California, Sans Division-1) didn't have football, instead spending a hell of a lot of money on intramural sports. If you didn't belong to at least a few intramural teams you were nada.
I belonged to "the blue coneheads" and "sciatcha ti nel fango" the latter Italian for "go roll yourself in the mud." though at this remove I'm sure I didn't spell that right. Softball teams. one from Tioga hall Jhouse, the other my Italian class. I also played Field hockey and lettered. We played intercollegiate on that one. I would have played women's rugby too, but I was dumb enough to tell my dad of my plans so he forbade it. And I missed some good parties on account of that. Though come to think of it, he probably did save me from getting a broken arm.
