whenever I need a smile
this number from Royal Wedding never fails to do the trick. (Yes, it's in the public domain-no need for the net police.) Brownie points for you if you know the real life name of Fred's love interest in this film. Ditto for the patron saint of actors, and the patron saint of dancers. Enjoy.

Ah !
The famous ceiling dance from Royal Wedding.
Sarah Churchill (not her married name) played opposite Fred Astaire.
Patron saint of dancers ?
At a guess : St. Vitus
Patron saint of actors ?
Don't know. I could look it up, but that would be cheating.
Karen,
Thanks ever so much for that. It was lovely.
Love,
the Mom
Right you are Dr. Peter, the patron St. of Actors is a little trickier, but when you find out you'll love reading his story. (He's not one of the commonly known saints.)
and "Mom" - glad you enjoyed it - I don't know if I could say this is my favorite Fred Astaire routine - but it's in the top 5 for sure. I think "Let's Say it with Firecrackers" from Holiday Inn, "Dancing Cheek to Cheek" in Top Hat, "It only Happens when I dance with you" from Holiday Inn, and "We're a Couple of Swells" from Easter Parade.. But there's so many more good ones it's hard to pick.
