Go ahead and use these

Mac had tagged me on a meme re: what picture I would use for my holy card, should I make it to saint, and of what cause(s) I wanted to be patroness. On a previous blog entry early last month I mentioned that in case I was to be given this honor that I wanted my first communion picture to be used.

But then saints usually have more than one "holy card" possibility, so for that "all American girl" look, I offer my senior year book picture.

And for the mature woman card I'll pick my profile picture.

And I want to be patron saint of people whose patron saints are overworked and too busy to get to whatever it is that they need help with (St. Anthony too busy finding car keys to bother with helping you find your sanity? Let me be your "go to" gal.) Also patron saint of altar servers particularly "difficult kids" whose parents wondered if their kid could "focus" enough, and of girls whose mothers didn't want them to serve Mass, and dog lovers (my *sign* will be an English springer spaniel - if St. Therese of Lisieux could send a shower of roses, I can send spaniels), and patron saint of theatre GOERS (so if you need to get those house seats opened up last minute just for you, ask me!)

And of course I want to be patron saint of procrastinators. I don't think anyone's gotten around to doing that yet. I should be good at it, being a world class procrastinator.

Mac wanted me to tag seven and I should get around to tagging you guys, if everyone else hasn't gotten around to tagging you already.

I tag: Esther, Fr. John Boyle, Fr. Sean Finnegan, Digihairshirt, Ukok, Ebeth, and Jackie. (and of course if you have a burning desire to do this one, please do so and let me know in the combox.)

Oh boy. I was hoping to not see my name here ;-) Okay, I will see what I can do. Mahalo for the tag Karen.

Oh joy, a meme.

Jeez, I'm a-gonna have to think about this one.

Unfortunately, if my name was submitted for possible canonization, I know too many people who would want to be The Devil's Advocate for THAT cause!

Although I doubt my possible sainthood, I could be the patron saint of those who won't be saints. How is that for a nice conundrum

Patron saint of procrastinators... I'm tempted to say that's MY job - I could win an Olympic God medal in procrastinating - but you're older than me, so you've been putting things off for even longer than I have!

(ducking for cover now...)

Olympic GOLD medal, even. I'm not quite sure what an Olympic God medal would be. Probably something out of a Greek Chippendales act.

Stevie, the greeks can have all that greco-roman wrestling stuff. Why don't they have events I excel at like drunken lawn darts or throwing dirty underwear around a bookcase, behind a stereo, have it do a 360 around a chair and still hit the laundry basket? And where is maypole dancing, tag team parking and kazoo drill team? Not to mention caber tossing the vertically challenged? Would you like to be co-patron of theatre goers? When I'm out sending springer spaniels you can pick up the slack in making sure people get those two special tickets they really want.

If we're talking sports... I watched water polo last night and was very disappointed. I didn't see even one horse. (My turn to hide)

rjw -- water polo with horses would be much more interesting!! (No wonder you guys would rather watch 2 woman volleyball - you wouldn't have cared who won!)

Water polo? Surely that's a 'sitting-down sport'? Why haven't I heard of GB winning fistfuls of medals in that? Anyway, just here to say that I see you already have a halo, aged 8 or so, Karen, so things are looking promising...

Okay, Karen, I've responded to your meme over at The Shirt.

In my haste to get to the meme, I forgot to comment on your choice. Lovely photo. As for patron saint of procrastinators, I know a few members of my family who could call for your aid :-)

What a great first communion picture--what a cutie-pie you are. Ha, that would be fun to send a shower of springer spaniels--LOL

Tara, I'm going to send 3 in a row too!!! Nothing like being lap dogged to death by a springer, much less 3.
