Goodbye, Bad Bishops

I love this website. If you've ever wondered "When does that guy have to submit his resignation, I can't WAIT for him to be counting the holes in the accoustical tile over his rocking chair?" just go to the website.

If it's come down to you asking that question, then yes, your bishop is probably on this site. I was less than astonished that my own bishop sits at #5. Barack Insane Obama will be gone from office before him, but he won't be too many months behind.

I love the fact that someone has taken the time to find all the pictures and do the "countdown" to the second. Now granted I hope Papa Ratzinger lives longer than these guys to be there still when their time comes to "pack their knives and go."[*]

I'm putting this useful link in the sidebar.

Hey, out of curiosity... is their resignation accepted/implemented the day of their birth, or can they linger on a while?

Funny how they used the Lawrence Welk's "Goodnight" song LOL.

My bishop wasn't on the list and he should be. He's been silent on all the major scandals here lately and was involved in the shuffling.

SBM: The pope can decline their resignation and offer them the opportunity to stay on...but of the ones I know of that made the list, I can't see him pining away for lack of leadership they provided. I think JPII was very generous in not implementing rules like: "I think you are egregiously incompentent, you should go - tomorrow."

I've got a bishop who can't seem to manage to tell his priests that it's not okay to let someone waltz away with the Eucharist, and furthermore, certainly don't chastize one of your own EMs for doing something you don't have the guts or brains to do yourself.

I know a lot of the priest pedo scandal happened before he got here, but given his yellow stream down his leg with dealing with a "no brainer" it's no longer no wonder to me why this diocese of all the diocese in the US got rolled so badly. There is nothing worse than a man with position and authority who hides behind his secretary's skirts, or sends a boy to do a man's job. I'm far more ticked off than I can say at the bishop than I am at the pastor in question.

Where's Bishop "Thou Shalt Not Kneel" Brown of Orange County?

Dino, Tod's on there, believe me, he's on there, after I looked for Roger, I looked for Tod!

I like the quote by St. John Eudes--but I'll bet not one of them believe it pertains to them.

My bishop isn't on there (Archbp Vigneron), so that's good.

However, I'm a bit dejected because Bishop Flores, one of our Auxillary bishops, has been appointed to Brownsville.

Detroit's loss, Brownsville's gain.

Larry, Felt the same way when Cordileone was promoted as a bishop in his own right. Maybe Bishop C. can take over Hell-A diocese when Roger Dodger takes a hike.

Tara: Nope, none of them think it applies to them...I daresay there might be a few skulls in there too to line the path to hell.

Hello, Gem of The Ocean and everyone here,

This site was the result of a brainstorm between myself and a good friend. I got the idea from seeing a couple of Mahony Countdown Tickers on another site.

I provided my friend with the names, dates of their 75th birthdays, and news stories pertaining to why they should pop the champagne corks when these guys finally go. The background music will change after Christmas for awhile from Lawrence Welk's "Goodnight" to Guy Lombardo's "Auld Lang Syne" to correspond with the New Year.

I've also submitted a few more names (the site has gone international) and they'll probably go up after Christmas.

There's a link you can click on to submit your bishop.

Glad you all enjoy it!

Hi, CrusaderKing and JD!

Thanks for doing all that work C!

And JD, I'm usually a more prolific writer, but felt like H*E double hockey sticks since about Mid Dec. and am just now starting to feel reasonably "normal" now.

To my great chagrin, the site is gone. I wonder what happened. It was so hopeful. Maybe the person joined the seminary and had to go into hiding.

Blessed Easter!!
