Rara Avis this morning at Mass. A Premonstratensian. I was beside myself. I'd only met one or two in my life, by chance at the reception after Abbot Claude's funeral. But I'd never seen one in situ!
Right minded Woman on the Left Coast. Lately she's been overheard in Mayfair...

Fr. Justin is awesome!, He has a beautiful voice
Yes, he does have a beautiful voice. His latin was sort of "Italianate" -- so I wasn't sure what his native language was going to be - but the "Justin" part should have told me Yankee.
He used the phrase "lex orandi, lex credendi" I didn't have the heart to tell him after Mass that he and Pius XII would have butted heads over that one. [Google Mediator Dei and look for the phrase and you'll see what I mean!]
Besides, there was a used book sale afterwards and thank goodness I had enough cash on hand to score some vols. One was a handbook of Sacred luturgy(Latin), another Jim Bishop's the Day Christ died, another with articles about the Eastern Rite, and a 4th on Sacramental theology(English)
Total price? 10 bucks. Then I went out to b'fast afterwards -- which accounts for the late posting yesterday.
Just enough time to fire off a post over on bury about those missing Apostle Vigils.
One of these days I'll make it down to St Anne's
