You were DA MAN. For a fun read sometime look for "George Washington's Expense account." Printed some years ago.
The fun thing is that on small items, he can be incredibly detailed. 2 shillings for cost of one spool of red thread, bought from Paul P. Harrison of Yonkers for use of my servant William Lee, who used it to sew up the large tear in my Blue Greatcoat.
And incredibly vague on other items: Dinner for one army sometime back last November - 8 thousand smackers. No, I don't remember what they ate.
""A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."~~ George Washington "
