Whereas I stayed up all night - and I was not alone in this - because the church bells that were seemingly RIGHT OUTSIDE my hotel room bonged loudly every hour, on the hour, all night.
(We went away for Christmas, for the first time ever.)
Where did you go? The Vatican? :-D It could have been worse. On time my mom and I went to London, and after traveling all day and arriving at the hotel about 11 London time...we were given a nifty front of the hotel room wiht a beautiful view, which was blocked by workmen on scaffolding. That wasn't the bad part. They were using jackhammers doing some refacing work on the hotel.
Yes. We changed rooms. WTF were they thinking at the front desk?
Not the Vatican. Closer to home. Buxton, in the Peak District, chosen because it's a nice place and it's conveniently halfway, more or less, between us and the rest of the family.
Anonymous posters are fine, but please give yourself a nickname so I know anon I from anon II. "Jack/Jill of the Amazing Wolverine Tribe" is preferable to "anonymous."
