They're Back
I *LOVE* this time of the year. The Jacarandas are back in full bloom. Most of them anyway...except the ones confused by the "June gloom" when it's only supposed to be "May gray."
Oh, I LOVED it when the jacarandas bloomed...although I can't complain. My lilac trees (yes, trees, due to prior owner neglect) are in bloom, so on Sunday, along with breakfast in bed, I got a huge vase of them. Apparently the beloved was out at 7 am on a ladder hacking away. (Whatta guy!)
You bet..at least yours smell nice too....mine just look pretty. Spring is absolutely my fav. time of the year....especially the 6 weeks or so (if that!) that the Jacs are in all their glory...if you blink you miss them!
I love to walk outside this time of year--there is almost always the smell of blossoms in the air. My lilac's are almost ready to bloom--I can't wait to cut some for inside the house.
My magnolia just did its thing. There were lots of them in Seattle, so when we moved back here we found that there were some varities that could stand MN, along the lines of mosquitoes and DFLers. I've had lilacs all my life, but not currently in my yard. The neighbor has a tree that hangs way over into our yard so I do get the experience anyway!
Anonymous posters are fine, but please give yourself a nickname so I know anon I from anon II. "Jack/Jill of the Amazing Wolverine Tribe" is preferable to "anonymous."
